How To: Configure Multi-Factor Authentication in Titan SFTP

Question

I installed Titan SFTP and would like to enable MFA feature, how can I accomplish this?

Reasoning

As an administrator, you would like to add another layer of security to ensure only legitimate users are able to access Titan MFT.

Answer

In Titan SFTP you have the ability to enable multi-factor authentication(MFA) that can use email or SMS to help verify a user for added security .

Steps

  1. Login to the admin page and navigate to services > ssh > enable multi-factor authentication. You can choose email (make sure email at server level is properly configured) or SMS. For this example, we will use email.

Ensure the user account has an email address in the user profile:

Open any client i.e winSCP/filezilla to login with a user using SFTP protocol

  1. Enter connection details (user interactive as logon type). Click connect and enter password
  2. Winscp/filezila will ask for multi-factor code, which user will receive in their email address.
